Police finalize traffic, parking plan for Iffi

Panaji: Goa police’s traffic cell has made necessary traffic arrangements for the 45th International film festival of India (Iffi) which will be held from November 20 to 30, 2014, to enable smooth flow of traffic.Traffic cell superintendent of police Arvind Gawas said that those attending the opening and closing ceremonyat Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee stadium, on Taleigao plateau, and coming fromnorth and south Goa (except Panaji) are requested to come via NH 17 and on reaching GMC, Bambolim, take the Goa University road and come up to the stadium.Those coming from Panaji will be diverted at Miramar towards Hotel Goa International to proceed to the function via Caranzalem – Dona Paula. On their return journey, they should take the road from Dona Paula to Miramar.The Inox lane (General Bernard Guedes road) which is the road leading to D B Marg from Panaji market alongside the Inox multiplex will be closed near the CCP market complex for the entire period of 11 days. Car passes will be issued byESG indicating the categoryof the pass and respective parking lots.The parking lots identified for the opening and closing ceremony are: VVIP vehicles will be allowed to park inside Dr Shyama Prasad stadium and VIP, media & OB vans will be allowed to park in the open space adjacent to the stadium towards GMC side.Officials and delegates coaches will be allowed to park in the open space opposite the stadium. During the screening at Kala Academy on November 20, vehicles with VVIPpasses will be parked in the Kala Academy parking lot andother VIP and invitee vehicles will be parked at SAG grounds, Campal.On other days during the festival period, vehicles with car pass only will be allowed to park in the Kala Academy parking lot, Inox parking lot, the service lane along Inox theatre and remaining vehicles at SAG grounds and Campal parade grounds.The general public attending the screening at Bandodkar football ground are requested to park their vehicles at SAG grounds or at Campal parade grounds. No vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the D B Marg.TOI Goa News
