NT NETWORK Panaji Around 200 persons were placed under home quarantine in Goa on Sunday by the state’s Directorate of Health Services (DHS). These 200 persons include close contacts and family members of suspected cases and confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the state. Those placed under home quarantine on Sunday also include locals, who have returned to Goa from different states. Many people were not mapped earlier by the health authorities. However, in the last 48 hours, a massive drive was launched by the DHS to trace all such persons and put them under home isolation. Till date, around 1,192 persons have isolated themselves at their homes. As per the media bulletin released by DHS, out of 82 samples, 16 have tested negative for the contagious virus, while reports of 66 samples are awaited. A total of 28 patients, suspected of having COVID-19 infection, are currently in the isolation ward of GMC which also includes four fresh suspected cases, which were reported on Sunday. Till date, Goa has seen 119 suspected cases of the dreaded virus. At present, six persons have been quarantined at the sub-district hospital in Ponda, 28 persons have been quarantined at the Margao Residency and nine persons have been isolated at the Old Goa Residency. Two persons have been quarantined at sub-district hospital at Chicalim.
