Cautioning against meeting the people who have come from outside Goa, the police have urged the general public to keep in touch with friends and loved ones on the phone or digital mode till their quarantine period ends.
“Many of us have friends and loved ones returning home to Goa. But our priority should be to keep ourselves and loved ones safe. Don’t risk exposure. Meet Virtually. Not Socially!” Goa police posted on its social media account.
Police have asked public to exercise caution and wait for their quarantine period to end.
In another appeal, police have asked the public to step out only if it is absolutely necessary. It can be hard to minimise contact in public areas. As far as possible avoid community spaces, the police have said.
The police have urged the people to maintain social distancing, wear a mask and sanitise regularly.
“We are in a lockdown for our safety and that of our loved ones. Goa loves outdoors – a walk on the beach or in the nearby park or to the restaurant next door! But please #StayHomeSaveLives as #GoaFightsCOVID19. Reach out. Don’t step out”, Goa police posted on its social media account.
In view of the fourth phase of the lockdown the police have appealed to the citizens not to undertake non- essential travel between 7 pm to 7 am as any such movement is prohibited. Action will be initiated against those found moving unnecessarily during this period, the police said.
