Mapusa court grants bail to Curlies owner

Mapusa court granted bail to the owner of Curlies shack and restaurant in Anjuna against a bail bond of Rs 10,000 and one local surety. The court has also directed three days reporting.
Within few hours of arrest, the counsel for Edwin Nunes moved a bail application in Mapusa court since the offence was bailable and he was granted bail with direction to remain present before the investigating officer as and when required.
It may be recalled that on Monday early morning Anjuna police had arrested Manjunath Anverikar, a resident of Nanerwada in Pernem, who is working as a waiter at
Curlies.
Upon a search on his person, he was found with drug like substance, suspected to be charas, weighing 7.3 gram, worth
Rs 8,000.
During investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the shack restaurant was allegedly aware about the fact that his waiter was involved in drug peddling and despite the same, he allowed the waiter to continue; hence, on Tuesday, the owner of Curlies shack restaurant Edwin Nunes, (39) resident of St Michael waddo Anjuna was booked and arrested under section 25 of NDPS
Act.
