Missing US girl traced, heads back home



The missing American girl Elizabeth Mae Mann (20) was
traced on Friday midnight on the Goa
border at Patradevi.

The Anjuna police inspector Suraj Gawas said that soon
after a missing report was filed at the Anjuna police, pressure had come from
the US embassy to trace the missing girl. The police in Goa immediately flashed
the photo to all police stations in the state.

The Anjuna PI said that the US girl had gone with her
friends to Patradevi early in the morning and at midnight she booked a taxi and
was coming back to Anjuna. The Pernem police inspector who was on his rounds at
Patradevi, Goa border post located the girl and phoned the Anjuna police.

The Anjuna police later took possession of the girl and
called the NGO were a written statement was recorded and the US consulate
officer was contacted who came and took charge of the girl.

The police recorded her statement in front of the NGO and
the US consulate and she told the police that no foul play had taken place in
the missing incident. Her mother was also contacted that her daughter has been
traced and no harm has been caused to her, informed the PI.

The Anjuna PI Suraj said that the girl had come to Goa
and wanted to see places but was not happy to go back to America. But yesterday
she was to leave the hostel as her mother had booked her return airfare to the
US, but in the afternoon on the previous
day in the wee hours she left the hostel all alone which was captured on the
CCTV footage going out with only her
hand bag.

The Anjuna police said that the girl’s mother has booked
an air ticket on Saturday evening and the girl agreed to go back to her
