‘Modi’s presence in Delhi vital for Goa’s development’

Panaji: Stating that reinstituting Narendra Modi in the chair of Prime Minister after the forthcoming Lok Sabha election is important for the development of Goa as well as for the security of the nation, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that it is also necessary for the Bharatiya Janata Party to stay in power, in Goa, for the next three years, and getting re-elected to power at the 2022 state assembly.
“We need Modi government at the Centre to ensure eight years of BJP rule in Goa,” he added.
Addressing a meeting of the Panaji booth workers of the BJP, in the city, the Chief Minister urged these workers to inculcate the positivity of Manohar Parrikar in them and help the state as well as the central governments of the BJP in fulfilling late leaders’ vision for Goa, which included infrastructural development in the state.
“We also want to stress on the human development in Goa,” he added, informing that for this purpose, under the Skill India initiative of the Modi government, Goa has got two centres at Margao and Sankhali, where education about various skills is being imparted to the youth, free of cost.
Speaking further, the Chief Minister said that in the past, if there were any differences among the booth workers, Parrikar would sort out the same. “We now have to end the differences, if any, among us, and work with a singular motive to re-elect the Modi government at the Centre,” he added.
North Goa candidate of BJP, Shripad Naik, in his speech said that the Modi government has brought the country on the right track, due to its developmental agenda. “Modi ji has sown the seeds and the sweet fruits will be out soon,” he noted.
Naik also stated that the booth workers of BJP have to work hard during the next few days in view of the Lok Sabha election and bypolls in four assembly constituencies.
Organisational general secretary of BJP for Maharashtra Vijay Puranik said that the Modi government has provided basic amenity like toilet to every Indian, and brought 45 per cent of the country’s population – which had never been linked to banking – under the banking sector, through Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana.
Senior BJP leader Rajendra Arlekar stated that even though Manohar Parrikar is no more with us, his legacy continues. “We have to follow this legacy and travel on the same path shown by him, to victory,” he mentioned.
Utpal, the son of Manohar Parrikar, was also present at the meeting.
