Curchorem: Congress’ South Goa Lok Sabha candidate Francisco Sardinha has said that the BJP-led government in the state instead of giving priority to construction of Zuari bridge, took up construction of third Mandovi bridge first.

Addressing a public meeting at Curchorem, he further said the common man was adversely affected by the demonetisation and ‘Gabbar Singh Yax’ imposed by the Modi-led central government, and questioned whether the prime minister was running a government or a shop?
He noted that the people have realised the failure of the central government, which he said is evident from the fact that the people brought Congress to power in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Besides Sardinha, Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, mahila president Pratima Cutinho, ex-MLA of Curchorem Domnic Fernandes, Curchorem block president John D’Costa, Rohidas Vast, Ali Shaikh were also present.
Reginaldo said that though the prime minister has given assurance that the mining issue will be resolved, it is only an eyewash.
He alleged that the BJP was trying to divide people on the basis of religion only to garner
Coutinho said, “Some people were expecting a revolt from me against the party for not getting ticket for South Goa Lok Sabha seat, but I am a devoted party worker and will wholeheartedly work for our candidate Francisco Sardinha.”
