Skeletal remains of woman found at Porvorim

In a shocking incident, the skeletal remains of Padmashree Vaman Radhakrishna, the wife of freedom fighter and noted journalist late Vaman Radhakrishna, were found in her house at Porvorim on Wednesday.
Padmashree, who had been staying alone in her house at the Housing Board Colony, Porvorim, may have died some seven to eight months back, said Sumedha Naik, investigating police officer attached to the Porvorim police.
The discovery of the dead body came to light when Padmashree’s brother Arun Hebbalkar came to visit her.
Hebbalkar, a resident of Ganapati Wado, Khandola, lodged a complaint with the Porvorim police, reporting his sister’s death.
Padmashree was last seen by the neighbours in June 2018.
Hebbalkar said the doors of the house were latched from inside. The police gained entry into the house after firefighters broke open the main door.
Naik said when the police personnel got into the house they found the skeletal remains of Padmashree lying on the floor.
An inquest panchanama was conducted on the skeletal remains, which were later sent to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, for completing legal formalities.
The house was also visited by the sub-divisional police officer.
