Taleigao attempt to murder: 10th accused remanded

The 10th accused Raja Hadfadkar (19) arrested by the
Panaji police in connection with the case of alleged attempt to murder that was
reported in July at Taleigao has been remanded to 7 days police custody.
Hadfadkar is from Chorao. On Sunday, police had arrested two accused Parimal
Pandit from Mapusa and Francis alias Franky Nadar from St Cruz. Both the
accused were remanded to 4 days police custody. The accused were on the run, police
said adding that probe is on to recover the weapon that was used in the crime.

Earlier, police had
arrested Dhananjay Chari, Dattaprasad Chari both from St Inez, Deepesh Gawas,
Gavrish Bandodkar, Jack Oliviera, Kamlesh Kundaikar residents of Nagali, Taleigao
and Manish Hadfadkar from Chorao. The accused are in judicial custody, informed
police.

In July at Nagali,
Taleigao, a group of four of them wearing mask allegedly assaulted Eknath Gauns
and Yuvnath Kuttikar. The motive behind the attack appears to be previous
enmity, police had said. After being
alerted about the attack, Yuvnath’s brother Krishna along with his friend Dilip
Kankonkar proceeded on a two-wheeler to track down the accused.

Upon reaching
Ribandar, they noticed the four accused persons Jack, Kamlesh, Manish and
Gavrish. Police said that the four accused allegedly assaulted Krishna and
Dilip reportedly using sword (later revealed to be koyta) and stones during
which Krishna’s wrist was chopped off. Krishna later died while undergoing treatment
at the GMC. This second case is with Old Goa police and a murder charge was
added in the case under IPC Section 302.
